Description:
There are three types of Sunflower Oil available - high oleic, high linoleic, and standard (mid oleic). High linoleic Sunflower oil is more therapeutic for the skin and better tolerated by acneic skin. We use High linoleic sunflower oil in our formulations.

Sunflower oil is cold pressed from sunflower seeds specially cultivated to produce an oil high in monosaturates. It is naturally high in Vitamins A, B, D and E, minerals, lecithin, insulin, unsaturated fatty acids, and Omega 9.

Sunflower Oil contains approximately 12% saturated fat, and 64% linoleic acid (an omega-6 essential fatty acid). Standard Sunflower Oil contains approximately 20% oleic acid (an omega-9 fatty acid). High oleic sunflower oil contains approximately 80% oleic Acid, and high linoleic sunflower oil has at least 69% linoleic.

All forms of sunlfower seed oil is excellent for the skin. High linoleic sunflower oil makes an especially good ingredient for cell regeneration and is highly recommended for mature or damaged skin.

It is a good oil to use alone for OCM or to combine with other with fragile oils such as evening primrose or rosehips seed.

This oil penetrates well, absorbs quickly, and does not leave an oily residue.

The oil is naturally more stable and resistant to rancidity.
